Atunde Shamsideen, the founder and CEO of Yikodeen, began his journey in the footwear industry in 2014 with a mission to improve the kits worn by police officers. Despite facing initial resistance from family and relatives, Atunde persisted and pursued his vision.

After graduating from Babcock University with a degree in computer science, Atunde further honed his skills by studying footwear technology and design at Academia Riaci in Firenze, Italy in 2015. He then established a mini factory with 6 workers.

Under Atunde’s leadership and passion, Yikodeen has become the leading safety and military boot manufacturing company in Nigeria and has the potential to become the largest footwear manufacturing company in Africa. Today, 1 in 4 police and military officers in Nigeria wear Yikodeen footwear, a testament to Atunde’s successful realization of his original vision.
